How to Remove / Eliminate Conficker Worm and Newest Variant ( Conficker B++ )

Conficker Worm

W32/ Conficker.DV Also Known As: Win32/Conficker.A [Computer Associates], W32/Downadup.A [F-Secure], Conficker.A [Panda Software], Net-Worm.Win32.Kido.bt [Kaspersky], WORM_DOWNAD.AP [Trend]
Newest Variant: Conficker B++ Aliases: Conficker B++, Conficker B, Conficker B++ Worm

A few days ago I have experience with Conficker worm or worm DownAD. Some computer in my office infected by this worm (the original worm and also with newest variant from this worm, Conficker B++)

This virus infect the pc’s by exploiting security hole in windows operating system.
If your computer not infect by this virus, it is recommended to install the Patch from Microsoft, you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx and make sure your Antivirus software always up-to-date.

Ok, Follow the step below to Remove / Eliminate Conficker Worm and newest variant ( Conficker B++ ) :

The thing that you have to prepared :

1. Disconnect PC which is infect by Conficker worm from the network.( if computer connected to the network)

2. Download removal tool from www.Symantec.com ,
you can download from http://www.symantec.com/content/en/us/global/removal_tool/threat_writeups/FixDownadup.exe (file exe)
Or http://www.ziddu.com/download/3672659/FixDownadup.zip.html (file zip)
This removal tool to clean original Conficker worm (old variant)

3. Download removal tool from http://www.spyware-techie.com/ .
you can download from http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe (file exe)
Or from http://www.ziddu.com/download/3672707/SmitfraudFix.zip.html (file zip)
This removal tool to clean newest variant conficker worm ( Conficker B++ )

Now you’re ready to clean the conficker worm

1. Turn off system restore ( Right Click My Computer-Properties-System restore )

2. Restart computer and login using “safe mode” (by pressing F8 when the computer boot up)
3. Use removal tool (FixDownup.exe) from Symantec to clean and remove original Conficker worm ( if exist ). After finished Then..

4. Use removal tool (SmitfraudFix.exe) from www.spyware-techie.com to clean and remove newest variant from conficker ( Conficker B++ ).
- Once the Disk Cleanup program is complete, you will be prompted with the message ‘Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry’. Answer Y (Yes) and hit Enter. Reboot your computer.
- SmitFraudFix will now check if wininet.dll is infected. SmitFraudFix will ask you whether to replace the infected file (if there’s any) ‘Replace infected
file?’ Answer by typing Y (Yes) and hit Enter.
- Reboot your computer to complete the cleaning process
- After reboot, a Notepad screen may appear containing a log of all the files
removed from your computer. If it doesn’t appear, a file will be created called
rapport.txt in the root of your drive, (Local Disk C:).
- Restart your computer in Safe Mode (how to do safe mode).
- Go to C:\Windows\Temp, click Edit, click Select All, press DELETE, and then
click Yes to confirm that you want all the items to go to the Recycle Bin.
- Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[LISTED USER]\Local Settings\Temp, click Edit, click Select All, press DELETE, and then click Yes to confirm that
you want all the items to go to the Recycle Bin.

5. Reboot your computer back to normal mode. Download patch from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx to close the security hole or if you’re using windows XP download Service Pack 3 from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4
6. Done .

Easy tips to delete blank rows in Excel

Microsoft Excel Tips

When we create data in Excel, sometimes there is a blank rows between the data that we created. With this below tips you can delete blank lines quickly.

For example we have data with blank rows data:

Follow the steps below:

1. Sort the range A2: B21 and press F5 on the keyboard, it will appear Go To dialog box, Then Click Special.. Button

2. In new Form Tickmark Blanks then click OK

3. Then, in Home Tab, Click Delete

Now you have data without Blank Rows

Easy right..:)

After Download and Install Windows 7 Beta, of course you want to know Windows 7 shortcut key.
Shortcut keys are combinations of keystrokes on your keyboard that can make the program do a certain task. Below are some cheat hot key that wrote by Brandon

General
Win+Up : Maximize
Win+Down: Restore / Minimize
Win+Left: Snap to left
Win+Right: Snap to right
Win+Shift+Left: Jump to left monitor
Win+Shift+Right: Jump to right monitor
Win+Home: Minimize / Restore all other windows
Win+T: Focus the first taskbar entry Pressing again will cycle through them, you can can
arrow around. Win+Shift+T cycles backwards.
Win+Space: Peek at the desktop
Win+G: Bring gadgets to the top of the Z-order
Win+P: External display options (mirror, extend desktop, etc)
Win+X: Mobility Center (same as Vista, but still handy!)
Win+# (# = a number key) : Launches a new instance of the application in the Nth slot on the Taskbar.
Win + + : Zoom in
Win + - : Zoom Out

Windows Explorer
Alt+P: Show/hide Preview Pane

Taskbar modifiers
Shift + Click on icon: Open a new instance
Middle click on icon: Open a new instance
Ctrl + Shift + Click on icon: Open a new instance with Admin privileges
Shift + Right-click on icon: Show window menu (Restore / Minimize / Move / etc)
Note: Normally you can just right-click on the window thumbnail to get this menu
Shift + Right-click on grouped icon: Menu with Restore All / Minimize All / Close All, etc.
Ctrl + Click on grouped icon: Cycle between the windows (or tabs) in the group

How to take ownership of a file or a folder in Windows Server

Windows Server 2003 Configuration

to increase data security in server, sometime the administrator computer will give specific access to user when accessing folder or file.
But for some case sometime an administrator itself cannot access the the file or folder.

if you are logged in as Administrator , actually you can take ownership of the contents of the folder.

To take ownership of a folder, follow these steps:
1. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if one appears).
3. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
4. In the Name list, click your user name, or click Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
5. Click OK, and then click Yes when you receive the following message:

You do not have permission to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control?

All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.

Note folder name is the name of the folder that you want to take ownership of.
6. Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

How to separate the cell contents in Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel Tips

One day I get questions from my friend, he said “Can I take a some part of word in cell Excel?

For example you have data BP001 and you want to take some part of the expression such as "BP” or" 001 " only
Can we do this in excel?

In the example below, I will separate the words www.gokhiel.com , and I want to take some part of sentence : www, gokhiel and .com only.
Please see the formula and the result from the table below:

To separate the cell contents, we can use the LEFT and RIGHT fnction.
LEFT function will cut and count the sentence from the left.
RIGHT function will cut and count the sentence from the right.

Time Count/Calculation using Excel

Microsoft Excel Tips

A: How old are you?
B: I am 38 years old, 11 months and 28 days
A: Wow!.. how do you know exactly your date of birth count from now?.
B: I am using Excel.. :)

Ok, above conversation just an example, you can easily to calculation time by year, months or day using Datedif function in excel.

You cannot find Datedif function in list of excel function, even this function “hiding” from list function but this function very useful for time calculation.

See the example below:
You’re birth of date is 12/5/1970 and present date is 12/2/2009
Use this function below to know the time by year, month and day :

=DATEDIF(Date1,Date2,Interval)

Another option for interval :
1. “m”= To count date by Month.
2. “d” =to count date by day.
3. “y” = to count date by year
4. “ym” = to count Month without the year
5. “yd” = to count day without year
6. “md” = to count day without year and month

You can try each interval option to more understand how to use it.

How to Hide Account User in Windows

Windows Registry

As default, Administrator Account will disappear if we create another account with account type administrator. in fact this account is not lose but only hiding by the windows system. Actually you can do the same tips if you want to do with your own account (account that you are created).
Follow the steps below:

For example you have account user “gokhiel” then you want to make it disappear

1. Click Start->Run-> then type ”Regedit”
2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MECHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
3. Create New DWORD In the right page
right click->new DWORD-> type the account user that you want to make it disappear, for this example type “gokhiel”
4. Double click then Make user the Value data is “0”

Now check the user account user in control panel, now user user “gokhiel” was disappear
